All the Way - Jennifer Probst "Because I knew it wasn’t over the moment you looked into my eyes.
image
"Who knows where the road will lead us, but if you let me love you, I’ll love you all the way.’"

So I have a weakness...I know, I know, you're probably shocked and appalled right now! I mean ME, having a weakness...crazy!
image
But I digress...

I have a weakness for 'the boy and girl meet and have an affair, girl falls in love, boy leaves and breaks her heart, but now he realizes he wants her back' story line. It doesn't matter how many times I read it. Any time I'll see that description in the book blurb, all I think is
image
But I digress yet again.

Three years ago Miranda and Gavin had a hot affair. She had dreams to be a chef, and he had dreams to see the world and be a successful and rich business man. Miranda falls head over heals for Gavin. But when she tells him his feelings, he bolts
image

Now Miranda is a successful food critic, and Gavin is back in town, on leave from his job, in order to help his parents with their failing family restaurant.

So when Miranda and her friend decide to go eat at a good Italian place, it just so happens to be Gavin's family restaurant
image

Shocking, I know!

When Gavin sees Miranda, he just knows he has to get her back. Unfortunately Miranda never forgave him for walking out on her and breaking her heart. When Gavin sees that the passion between them is still there, he knows that the only way to prove his sincerity to her is through romance.

Miranda doesn't believe that Gavin is serious this time around. After all, he's left her before. She doesn't want to give him her heart only to have him break it all over again when he leaves. I have to say that given the things that Miranda is hiding from her past, her hesitation toward Gavin was understandable.

Gavin was absolutely swoon-worthy. I loved how he pursued Miranda. The romance was very cute, and not in a cheesy way. Miranda is only able to resist his charming ways for so long. Gavin is possessive and dominant, and no man has been able to compare to him since. She has only been with "tame" men since him...

This was a cute, sexy, and quick little read. Not my favorite by the author or something I'd choose to re-read, but highly enjoyable nonetheless.

Steal My Heart - Lisa Eugene
“I’m a bad man, Maggie."

image
The heart is sometimes the last to speak the truth

I'll be honest, when I read 'ex-Navy SEAL' and 'dirty boy' in the book's description, I knew I'd be all over this. What? Shallow?! I think not!
image
Right...moving on then.

This was my first book by Lisa Eygene, and after finishing this, I can say it won't be my last.

Maggie was endearingly quirky. She's a nurse and a germaphobe of obsessive proportions. I was afraid at first that this would irritate me, but she came off as cute and her germaphobia was hilarious. Her internal monologue had me giggling through the entire book.
"Listen, why don't you just leave? I promise I won't call the police. I don't even know your name."
"Gabe."
She blinked. 'Gabe' didn't suite him. Maybe Atilla or Calingula.

Recalling when her gay best friend, Dave, dragged her to an adult toy store after her recent break-up.
She still blushed at the memory. David called the shop his ‘grocery store of genital goodies. And she’d been surprised that it was much like a grocery store, with seemingly ordinary people pushing shopping carts filled with its and other curious items up and down isles. He’d teased her mercilessly because of the wig and dark glasses she’d insisted on wearing, and repeatedly assured her that she looked like the only weirdo pervert in the store, especially after she’d spent a great deal of time questioning the manager about the most efficacious ways of cleaning and sterilizing the device she’d reluctantly purchased. After being referred to the manufacturer, she’d finally gotten some answers, and had even made suggestions that he assured her would be added as an insert with the product. She’d been thrilled to offer her expertise on infection control.

image

The woman was straight crazy at times, but I still found myself laughing at her antics.
“Ahh… what are you doing?” Gabe walked over and stood next to her.
“I’m blow drying the sheets,” she stated simply. He gave a slight head shake as he regarded her.
“Why?” he asked slowly.
“I’ve inspected the sheets for bedbugs. Doesn’t appear to be any, but this is just a precaution. High heat should kill any microscopic eggs.”

image

Gabe....*dreamy sigh*. He was a dirty boy indeed. He was sexy, demanding, possessive, and a dirty talker (be still my heart, I just love those dirty talkers.)

The sexual chemistry between these two characters was super hot, and when they finally got down to business...sweet mother!
“Is it good, Maggie?” he hissed, his hips snapping rapidly.
“Yes!”
“Tell me, honey.”
“Oh God, Gabe!”
“Tell me. I need to hear it!” he demanded roughly, his voice a cry of anguish. Her blue eyes snapped open and locked with his.
“Yes, Gabe! Yes! It’s unbelievable! You’re unbelievable!” she gasped as she spasmed on the hard granite.

image
(and mama like!)

I don't want to reveal too much of the plot, since it would give away spoilers.

But I will say that it was sexy, fast paced, action-filled, and a page turner till the end.

Now I do have some minor quibbles. I have this pet peeve when author's use various terminology for the...uhem....nether regions. It's like they get too creative at times, just call it what it is. I may have developed a slight allergy to the term 'rod' or 'member'. Dunno, just doesn't conjure sexy thoughts for me. *shrugs*
...he let her thighs fall to the side, then rolled his sweats further down his hips and gripped the wide root of his member.

********************
His rod soon became stiff and hot and pushed eagerly into her palm.

I think my biggest quibble is with the ending. I loved the action in this book. It was fast paced and filled with twists that I never saw coming. The big twist at the end...wowsa!

But...I felt like the ending came and then we had a very sweet epilogue, but it never really explained some things that I felt would have been important to the story.

There was a major shooting, with 2 people killed, yet there was no mention as to what happened with the investigation or any repercussions from it. Gabe is being hunted by authorities throughout the whole book. There was also a story that was released where he was falsely accused of killing a nurse and a cop...but we never really got any explanation with that.

I think that if we got at least a few paragraphs tying that all up, it would have helped the ending immensely. It just doesn't make sense that both Gabe and Maggie simply walk away from something like that.

Aside from the 2 minor complaints, I thought the book was fantastic.
I have definitely found me a new author to watch out for, and I will gladly read any future books she releases.

The Angel (The Original Sinners, #2) - Tiffany Reisz
"Fetishes...they're the pet the pet that you feed or the beast that eats you."
image
To say that I loved this book would probably be an understatement. I fucking loved it! This series is captivating, dark, erotic, and completely addictive.

The Angel picks up 13 months where The Siren ended. After Nora's devastating decision with Wesley, she is now with Soren. The Angel gives us something that we didn't get much of in the previous book, some of Soren's history. Although he is still a very dark character, and still scares me a bit, particularly with his hard core sadism, I am starting to warm up to him more.
image

When Soren finds out that he is being considered as the possible replacement for the bishop and someone has broken into Kingsley's office and stole Nora's file, he knows the best thing for everyone is to send Nora away for a little while. The last thing they need is a closer look at their relationship, so he decides to send Nora away together with Michael to stay at the house of Griffin Fiske for the summer.

Michael, although now slightly older at 17, is still having a hard time dealing with the repercussions of his family finding out about his 'kinks'. Getting away from the brutality of his father and the lack of attention from his mother is exactly what he wants right now. Particularly for the chance to be 'trained' by the infamous Mistress Nora.

When he comes face to face with the gorgeous, tatted, and hillariously out-spoken Griffin, he is confused by his reaction to the man. Before long, Michael realizes that he is attracted to him and begins to want things he never before wanted.

Griffin was one of my favorite parts of this book. Besides him being sexy as hell, with tats and a Ducati, he has a wicked sense of humor.
"Alfred, I need ice and that vitamin K goop. Stat."
Michael heard the crackle of static.
"I loathe you, Master Griffin," came a British accent over the intercom.
"Thanks, Alfred."
"Is your butler's name really Alfred?"
"No, it's Jamison, I think. Can't remember. I changed it to Alfred years ago. My first crush on a dude was batman."

I loved the way that Griffin was with Michael. While he comes off as care-free and sarcastic, he was so caring and sweet when it came to Michael. Not to say that the steam was missing. Hell no! When they finally got together...
image
Their relationship is developing throughout the whole book, and it was my favorite part of The Angel.

***********************

"Tell me, have you ever had sex in the back of a Rolls Royce?"

image
Kingsley is pretty much the same mystery that he was in The Siren, though we do get to find out a bit more about his relationship with Soren.
************************
"Eleanor, if you have any mercy in that dark heart of yours, when you leave me right now, you will walk and not run."

image
After receiving an anonymous tip that there might be a conflict of interest in his consideration for bishop, a reporter begins to investigate the enigma that is Soren. Through the investigation we get to find out Soren's dark history. Finding out what we did, it really helps put many things in perspective, though it was devastating.

************************
Love is the open wound that you hope never heals.

image

Nora is still struggling with her decision of leaving Wesley. Even though Soren own her heart, she loves Wesley and can't seem to let him go.
Life with Soren was paradise, a dark, dangerous paradise but still, a perfect naked Eden.
"Almost perfect," she whispered to no one.

While Soren fulfills the dark edges, there is still a part of her that knows Wesley has something else to offer, something that Soren will never be able to.
"Winter, can be so beautiful and so cruel. Cruel and cold. And if you live in the presence of winter you never have summer." Nora stepped close to him and put her nose at his cheek. "You smell like summer. Like clean laundry hanging out in the sun. That's an amazing smell too."

****************************
image
Even though it has been 13 long months since he has last seen Nora, Wesley still struggles to move on and forget his love for her. He is the light to the dark that is Kingsley and Soren and the rest of Nora's world. He is so pure in his feelings, and ferocious in his love for her.
"No, she and I never had sex. That's true. But we had love, real love that didn't take anything out of us, that didn't bruise us or break us. I loved her without hurting her. You asked me if I, a virgin, could teach her what sex should be? No, of course ot. Hell no. But at least I can teach her what love should be like. And she knows it too.

image
To W.R. Many waters.

While there were many revelations, and questions that were answered, I still was left with as many questions as I received answers. I cannot wait to find out more about the mysterious Kingsley, and to see where the next book takes Nora and her relationship with Soren and Wes.

The Siren (The Original Sinners, #1) - Tiffany Reisz image
"Writing erotica is like fucking someone for the first time. You aren't sure exactly what he wants yet so you try to give him everything he could possibly want. Everything and anything...You hit every nerve and eventually you'll hit the nerve. Have I hit any nerves yet?"

image

This is NOT a romance novel. It is NOT sunshine and rainbows, pretty and light, sweet and romantic.

It's dark, painful, erotic, beautifully sadistic, captivating, and unlike anything I've read before.

I'll start by saying that had I not immediately read, The Angel, right after this, I might not have felt the same about it. I think reading the next book helped put a lot of things that were tough to swallow in perspective for me. This is definitely not your mama's romance novel. There are parts I read that were incredibly tough to swallow, but I loved every darkly erotic page of it.

Nora Sutherlin is a famous erotica writer, but she is determined for her new book to be different, more personal, but she needs help.

Zachary Easton is known as "The London Fog" in the editing world for a reason. He's demanding, brutally honest, and not really known for his bright and chipper personality. When he agrees to take on Nora's manuscript, even though he views her as the guttersnipe author, he does so on one condition. Nora must rewrite her entire novel to his standards in six weeks.

Forced to enter her world, Zach soon finds there is so much more to Nora that what he initially thought.
image

Nora is not just an erotica writer. She's a dominatrix, and a famous one at that.
image

But behind the veil of leather, high heels, and whips, Nora is also so much more. While I loved her quirky personality, and snarky humor, we also gets snippets of her 'other' side when she is around Wesley.

Wesley was my favorite part about this book. I just adored him. He's Nora's intern/roomate, and just so happens that he's a 19 year old virgin. We get a glimpse inside Nora's softer side when she is around him. Wesley hates the dominatrix part of Nora's life. He doesn't understand the appeal of that dark world, particularly when given Nora's history with Soren.

Soren...WOW! I don't even know where to begin with Soren.
He could read a soul with the merest glance. He'd know what she would become from the moment he first saw her. He had told her so. It had always been her favorite bedtime story.

Soren and Nora were lovers for 13 years
"Soren and I aren't a romance. We're just a fantasy."

That is until Nora left him, over a year ago. Though they still have a somewhat relationship...
Soren isn't some boyfriend you have a fight with and then kiss and make up. He's the invading army you surrender to before it burns your village down.

I hated him. I was intrigued with him. I hated the fact that I was intrigued with him. At first what we get are Nora's flashbacks, and they were no easier to deal with than the reality of finally meeting Soren.
When the reality of all that he is finally came to light, I was left utterly speechless.
image
Then there is also the mysterious Kingsley. Kingsley, Nora, and Soren have a very convuluted past that we don't get much of an explanation for in this book, but mere glimpes. One thing was clear, however...
"Nora's not just some smut writer with a wild sex life. She's the motherfucking queen of the Underground. And Kingsley Edge is, obviously, our king."
"And him? What is he?" Zach didn't even want to say Soren's name.
"He's whatever's higher than a king and queen."
"An emperor?" Zach guessed.
"A god."

The writing is absolutely, fucking brilliant! The story mainly focuses on Zach and Nora, but Wesley, Soren, ad Kingsley do take a somewhat role in the book as well. We do't get much of a backstory in this book on anyone other than Zach.

I really loved Zach's character. He was obviously still struggling over his marriage falling apart, and still being in love with his wife. But in his work with Nora, he begins to develop feelings for her that he has a very hard time dealing with.
Nora...the siren and the goddess, the ship and the wine-dark sea. She would either save him or end him. Right now, with her words singing in his ears, he didn't really care which.

Nora, I believe, was a big reason as to why I was hesitant in reading this book at first. I don't usually enjoy stories with Domme's. It's just not my thing. But Nora was so much more than I anticipated. She's somewhat an enigma in this book. We get to see her dark edge, and her soft side as well. She's obviously struggling with knowing that she will never be comfortable in a Vanilla relationship, yet yearning to be with Wesley at the same time while knowing she can't. She's still drawn to Soren, and their connection.

I loved the way the author weaved all of these character's stories together. It was beautifully and flawlessly done.

I don't want to reveal too much, you simply must read this to figure things out for yourself. But I will say that is one of the most captivating books I have read in a long, long time.

Facade (Games, #2) - Nyrae Dawn image
I don't see the future; I just notice shit. When you're seven years old and scared of your own shadow, too scared to get close to anyone like I used to be, you learn to pay attention. To study people's loves because it's the only way to feel like you're living and to think about how differently you'd be doing if you had the balls to man up. Or, hell, if you hadn't been given such a shitty hand to begin with.
image
I Think when love sneaks up on you, when it grabs on to you when you least expect it, maybe that's more of a sign it's real. That it's meant to e and nothing could stop the two of you from falling for each other.
image

This book grabbed me by the heart strings, and did't let up until the very last page. If you read and loved [b:Charade|15993374|Charade (Games, #1)|Nyrae Dawn|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1357756816s/15993374.jpg|21751013] and are looking at this book thinking it will be along the same lines, don't! Don't get me wrong, I thought it was amazing. But it was also so much more than Charade was. It's dark, and painful, filled with twists and revelations that will break your heart and bring you to tears. You will feel the pain along with the characters, you'll bleed with them. Yes, it was that good for me.

When we first met Adrian in the first book, he came off as the sexy bad boy, the stoner, the player.
image
This book reveals that he is so much more. Adrian is broken, broken in a way that he doesn't think can ever be mended or healed. Four years ago something happened that changed his life in the darkest of ways; that haunts his waking thoughts and dreams at every turn. But he hides behind a facade, a smoke screen of parties, alcohol, weed, and women. Not even his best friend, Colt, truly knows what goes on inside his head.
image

Delaney is a girl that wants to fix a wrong. Hiding secrets and a dark past of her own, all she wants to do is attempt to fix and move on from the terrible wrong her father made a few years back. She is tired of living in the shadow of the constant pain that wrong has caused. All she's looking for is forgiveness.
image

When Delaney and Adrian meet, they are instantly drawn to each other. But both of them are afraid of opening up and having their secrets come to the surface. Even though Adrian tries his best to come off as the guy that doesn't care, Delaney sees glimpses of the broken boy inside.

"You're bleeding," She says.
"I've been bleeding for four years."

At first all Adrian sees is a beautiful girl, a girl that he wants nothing more than a few stolen moments with to forget about his pain. But soon enough he begins to see that she's harboring a secret pain of her own.
"Why Casper?"
"Because you're the girl with ghosts in her eyes."

Delaney knows that the last thing she needs to do, is to get close to Adrian, but the more she gets to know him, the more she is drawn to him
image
The relationship between them builds over time. Delaney does make Adrian work for it, she doesn't just give in to his smooth talking way. It was not a case of insta-love or insta-lust even. While they are drawn to each other, they start out as friends. With a few stolen kisses and touches, their friendship grows, until a fateful weekend away brings them even closer. I really loved this part of the story, it was equal parts steamy while at the same time sweet (without being cheesy)
image
I really loved both of these characters. Adrian hides such a dark past. It truly hurt my heart with every new detail about him was brought to life. But inside the sexy and charming lady's man, there was the soul of a poet, and I really loved that about him.
image
Delaney was an amazing heroine as well. Her life has not been easy. Her family situation and the way her mother treats her was incredibly painful to read. But even given everything that she has been through, she still tries to find the good in people and fix things.

Once I got past the 10% mark of this book, I could not set it back down, and I read it in one sitting. When the big secret finally comes to light in the last 20% of the book, all I can say is WOW, I really did not see that particular twist coming. It was heart wrenching...
image

Thankfully, we get a very satisfying HEA, and an epilogue as well (though it was a short one).

I loved this book. I loved pretty much everything about it. I'm eve woman enough to admit that this was me during a few parts of it...

Redneck Romeo - Lorelei James “Want you, need you, have to have you. Goddamn, woman, the way you respond to me is such a fucking turn-on.”
image

Over the past few months when Dalton looked at her a certain way, or placed a kiss below her ear, or ran his finger down the inside of her arm, she sensed his satisfaction. His possession. She’d chalked it up to sex. Now she saw it for what it really was. Love that went beyond anything she’d ever thought any man could feel for her, let alone this man who owned her heart, body and soul.

image

Holy crap. Jessie was pregnant too? Rory had considered ditching the condoms with Dalton since she was on the pill, but seeing these virile McKay males? Now she had half a mind to demand that Dalton double bag his dick— just to be safe.
image

While I can't say that this book was a favorite of mine, I did enjoy it thoroughly. It was a nice change-up from the typical bad boy and connesuir of vagina du jour. Dalton wanted and pursued a relationship with Rory from day one. He knew what he wanted, and he went after it.

While Dalton certainly had his wild moments of random women and bar fights in his youth, he's a different man now. He has been away from home for 3 long years and has a damn good reason for running away when he did. When he hears that his (asshole) father has suffered a stroke, he knows he has to go back to be with his family, even though the last thing he wants to do help the man that caused his family nothing but pain. What seals the deal is when he finds out that Rory is now also back and is no longer engaged. Having been in love with her for years, he knows it's now or never.

Dalton pursues Rory throughout the entire book. Having had a long history with the bad boy McKay, Rory has a hard time believing that this time he's playing for keeps. After all, it wouldn't be the first time that Dalton has wham-bam-thank-you-m'amed her, he did take her virginity in his car and then never called her. Of course there was also the fact that he left one of her good friends at the alter 3 years ago and then split.

Dalton is a cowboy with a mission, though, and works like hell to make it work with her.
image
While Dalton had plenty of moments where he was incredibly sweet, he definitely did not disappoint in the heat department.

He leaned across her body and whispered, “Problem?” directly in her ear.
God. That voice. The heat and weight of his body. The scent of his skin. The man could screw up her senses just by existing.
“Aurora?” he murmured.
“Why are you going so slow?”
He nuzzled the side of her neck. “Because it’s fuckin’ hot watching my cock driving in and out of you. Seeing it covered in your sweet juices, knowing what I’m doin’ to you is makin’ you hot. Makin’ you wet.”
“Dalton—”
“When it’s you and me together like this? Baby, you come first. Always.”
“So if I make myself come?”
His mouth brushed her ear. “Then I’ll fuck you like a goddamned jackhammer until you come again.”

image

Even though it took Rory pretty much the entire book to own up to her feelings to Dalton, it didn't irritate me as something like that usually would. I think it was due to the fact that I really like her as a character, she some sort of timid mouse. She had a dirty mouth, a quirky sense of humor, and had no problem speaking her mind.
“Right here, right now?”
“Yep.”
“Are you drunk?” she demanded. “Nope.”
Rory cocked her head. “Suppose I did spread my legs and slip my fingers into my cunt to get myself off. You’d still be hard and horny. How would you benefit?”
Dalton plucked up her hand and rubbed the tips of his fingers on his lips. “The benefit for me is that you did what I told you. You have no idea how much I love watching you come. It’s even better—” he kissed her fingertips, “— and hotter when you do it for me.”
“Dalton, the list of things I won’t do with you or to you or have you do to me is pretty short. But I draw the line at diddling myself between courses in a four-star restaurant.”

There was also some parts, particularly the conversation between Rory and her friends that had me laughing like an idiot.

“Well, even if she is sore she can’t tell him she’s sore,” Mandie said.
“Why not?” Vanessa demanded.
“Because if she complains her lady part is chafed he’ll just want anal instead,” Mandie stated. Rory choked on her drink. “I wondered if part of the reason you’re not sore after having sex seventeen freakin’ times in a week is because you were taking it up the ass.”
“Seriously, Mandie. What. The. Hell.”
“What? No butt sex for you yet?”
“No!”
“He’s gonna want it. Soon probably.” Mandie’s voice dropped to a whisper. “My advice? Lots of lube.”

All the McKays and their offspring make an appearance, though the book mainly focuses on Casper's sons, Tell, Brandt, and Dalton. I still got somewhat lost in the names, since the McKay's do like to procreate. I can't keep track of all the offspring anymore. (Good thing the author has a family tree on her website)

I did also skipped book 14 since I couldn't get into it, so it might have been a small reason for my confusion. The author does do a good job with explaining events from the previous book, without it being repetitive, so that helped a lot with remembering certain things.

It took me a bit to get into the book initially, and there were some parts that dragged for me in the middle. But right around the 70% mark, there were some revelations that had me glued to my kindle until I finished. There were things that were revealed about Dalton's history that seriously hurt my heart and made me cry.

So if you're looking for a steamy book with a sexy, jealous and possessive cowboy and a spunky heroine, I'd say you'd really enjoy this one.

Edible (Exquisite, #3) - Ella Frank “Remember this moment, Rachel, because I don’t plan to forget it until you’re screaming my name so loudly that every single person within a ten-mile radius knows what it fucking is.”
image
“You know, for a man so immaculately dressed, your mouth is filthy, and your manners are terrible.”
image
Looking down at her hand, Cole watched as it moved to the buttons of his vest. “I don’t really think it’s my manners that you’re interested in.”

Dear Santa,

Please, please, please bring me my very own Cole for Christmas this year. I swear I've been good (mostly).

I've been super nice (on every other weekend, and high holidays)

I eat my vegetables (kinda, some of them taste like crap)

I'll even attempt to stop swearing (I'm fucking trying! Really!)

I'd really like for my Cole to have the following criteria:

I'd like him to be a sexy god in a suit.

But underneath the prim and proper attire, he'll be a tatted up and pierced in all kinds of places...

With a filthy mouth that will make a porn star blush
“Oh yeah, just like that, huh?” he asked as he did it over and over. She panted as he pounded into her.
“Fuck.”
“Oh, we’re fucking. We are fucking real hard.”

Oh, and it'd be really nice if he also drove one of these

I really don't think that's too much to ask for. Really, get your elves on that shit pronto! Kay, thanks!

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I loved this book. I loved the hell out of it. Now don't throw stones here, but I didn't really enjoy the first book in this series so much. While I enjoyed the writing, I simply couldn't connect with the heroine.

This was definitely not the case with this book. Rachel was an incredibly endearing heroine. After getting out of an abusive relationship, she focuses on "safe" men so that she never enters into the same situation again. The last thing she wants is another controlling man.

But then Cole comes along.
image
This man is anything but tame. He knows what he wants, and he makes no bones about letting Rachel know that what he wants is her.

“From the minute you walked in, it was you. I’d been coming to this place for months, looking for someone— not someone who wants gimmicks, not someone who wants to act a part in the bedroom. This is me and my life, Rachel. I’m bossy, I’m arrogant, and I can be an asshole at times, but I also crave the power to control my surroundings. So, that is what I ask of you. Will you let go and give me the power to make you happy? To make you scream when your body finally explodes around mine? I want the power to make you smile and curse at me, so if you want to try that, then come with me. Say yes, and come home with me.”

The story and writing was fan-fuckin-tastic. Rachel was great and entertaining to read. But what made this book was Cole. 'I-wanna-Lick-him-all-over-and-then-cover-him-in-caramel-so-I-can-lick-him-again' Cole.

How do I even begin to describe all of the delicious that was Cole?

Tålmodighet av en saint. Sinnet til en synder. How very appropriate it is tonight, he thought. Patience of a saint. The mind of a sinner.

He was so refined in his black pants, shirt, and tie, but he was looking at her like he wanted to fuck her into next week.

Holy mother of hotness, every single time this man opened him mouth, it got me hot.

I want you naked and in my bed, and I want it in the next two minutes.” “Or?” she pushed. “Rachel?” “Yes?” “There is no or,” he informed her as his serious eyes met hers. “Just do it.”

image

He moved his face in close to hers and looked her directly in the eye. “I want to take you up to my bed, lay you down in it, and slide so deep inside you that I have trouble remembering what it’s like to be apart from you. And, Rachel?”
“Yes?”
“I want you to let me.”

“You’re so much more than I ever expected. How did I not see that coming?” he asked, mystified. Her lips tipped into a shy smile. “Because I was hiding,” she confessed.
“And now?” Taking his hand in hers, she brought it to her mouth.
“And now I want you to see me.”

After the orgasm that was this entire book, I will be going back and reading book 2.

Love Has A Name (Billionaire Brothers, #2) - S. Ann Cole DNF'd at the 20% mark

Unfortunately I just couldn't find myself caring for the characters, the story, or the writing.

My major issue with it was the writing, it simply didn't fit the genre of the book. I felt like I was reading 19th century lit at times, with phrases like:
Retiring from a long days work...
My previous bar attendant of three years had left a week ago in migration to London...
'Twas the prime reason I moved...

Not what I really expect in reading a contemporary romance.

This was just not the book for me, though others might enjoy it.

Maybe I'll try to go back to it when I'd be in a mood for something like this, though I doubt it.

Killing Sarai (Killing Sarai, #1) - J.A. Redmerski 5 Completely Enthralling Stars
I don't think that this thing between us is love, or even lust. It's something else, something powerful and unmistakable that neither of us have been able to ignore. But it doesn't have a face. Or a name.

image
I am discipline. Sarai is rage.

This book was a roller coaster of emotions that I wished would never end.
I still can't exactly put into words everything that I felt about this book.

I went from

The writing was brilliant. The story was "unable to put the book down for even a second" good. It was unlike anything I've read in a long, long time.

Victor
image

Victor was an enigma. The author did such an amazing job with characterization that the reader got both not enough of Victor that he had this air of mystery about him the entire book, and yet give us just enough crumbs that made him incredibly endearing despite his coldness at the same time. He was scary, he was mysterious, he was also so DAMN HAWT!

Syrai
image
Syrai was such an incredible heroine. She was both vulnerable yet completely kick-ass. She went through hell for nine years. She has seen things that no child should ever have to see, and been through horrors. Never having a childhood, she went from one hell into a whole different one. When she escapes the captivity through a mysterious stranger she knows only as Victor. For a 23 year old, and having been through as much as she had, she still managed to come off as so incredibly strong.

The story is not your fairy tale romance. It is not sunshine and rainbows and unicorns. It's dark, twisted, gritty, and sucks you in from the very first page.

The romance builds realistically over time. I was so happy to see that the author did that, because had it been quicker or lust at first sight it would not have done these amazing characters justice. The majority of this book is the suspense and action, and it doesn't disappoint in either case. It's fast paced, and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very last page.

The ending I felt was very fitting. It was not exactly a cliffhanger, though it is quite clear that their story is far from finished. As much as I would have loved a HEA, it would not have been true to the story to give Sarai and Victor one at that point of the book.

My thoughts when I just finished the book:

Holy shit! This book!
I have no words...
No really! I need to get my shit together and gather my wits before I write a review...
I need a fucking moment here!!

Playing the Part - Robin Covington image

Well I have now found myself a new author to look out for. Never having read a book by Robin Covington before, I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book.

Piper James is a romance book author. After going through a very public break-up and losing it by going after her ex-fiance in the press, she's trying to keep a low profile. But what do you expect when her famous actor fiance cheats on her?
image

Focused on her career, she knows she needs to avoid the public eye and another scandal. So making nice with her publisher, she agrees to consult on a movie remake of one of her bestselling books. Of course she knows she's in trouble, when her job is to teach Hollywood's sexy badboy action star, Mick Blackwell, how to play a man in-love in a romantic movie.

Mick is sexy and he knows it. He's not exactly lacking for women's attention.
image
But when he sees Piper and her sexy little "librarian meets Katy Perry vibe", he knows he has to have her.

They don't really play coy around the subject or beat around the bush with their attraction to each other for too long. They decide on a purely physical relationship, since Mick doesn't really do relationships and the last thing Piper wants to do is get romantically involved with another bad boy actor.

This is where the book get REALLY good, because let me tell you that the steam factor in this book is SERIOUSLY hot.
image
Mick and Piper burn up the sheets and the pages together.
image

I loved the writing style and the characters. The steamy love scenes certainly didn't hurt either.

It does have a very cutesy hollywood-type ending and epilogue, but I enjoyed that too.

I do have a request for the author, however.

PLEASE give us a story for Lincoln. I mean seriously, how can you write this
The tattoos, the wounded soul, the voice with just a hint of a Welsh accent were almost impossible for some women to resist.

and not expect us to practically salivate? Seriously! I need a story for him! I'm dyin over here!
image
image
Please for the love of all that's holy, just put me out of my misery and write the book!
I swear, I won't harass you (well maybe a little)
And I will love you forever (seriously, like a lot)
I can continue to pester and beg some more, but I don't want to come off stalker-ish...so maybe I'll cut myself off here

Dream Nights with the CEO - Kathy Lyons It takes a lot for me to DNF a book. Really! It does! I'm usually a victim of my damn curiousity that urges me to continue reading to see if it gets better (it usually never does). But with the case of this book...I just couldn't put myself through it past the 55% mark.

After reading this book, I have have a question for the author.
image

Really...is it a ghost PNR? A fantasy? A contemporary? A harlequin? Can we pick one and stick to it??

Let's see what this book had.

1. Poor or almost lacking characterization? image

2. Boring and at times plain cheesy dialogue? image

3. A dream sequence in which the hero appears as a superhero-y masked crusader with a cape? image
YEP! image

4. A well meaning ghost that likes to bring couples together because of his own tragic history with love (which apparently takes place in dreams, resulting in the hero and heroine having some...well wet dreams) image
True story! image

Honestly, I couldn't get into the story at all. I couldn't find myself caring for either of the characters. The plot bored me. The writing was very simplistic, cheesy, and had a very harlequin-y feel to it.

"Why can't I see you?" she asked. "I want to thank you properly."
"Won't you kiss me?"

"I - I need to get home." she said.
He nodded as he stepped protectively close. "I'll shield you from harm."

image

I simply couldn't finish this book. When I got to the halfway mark and can only think
image

I just cut my losses. So a DNF for me

Will I read another book from this author? Probably not. I didn't enjoy the writing style of this book at all. I just think this is just one of those authors that are just not for me. Not to say that others won't enjoy it...just that I wasn't one of them.

Their Virgin Hostage (Masters of Ménage, #5) - Shayla Black, Lexi Blake 3.5 sexy, though slightly clichéd and unoriginal stars

This series has been a guilty pleasure of mine for whenever I need a go-to smutty and sexy little read. Unfortunately, it seems that they have gotten just too predictable lately. Ever since book 3, it seems that they are all written on the same formula:

Take a 20-something virgin that is also extremely shy, with self-image issues, and a somewhat broken past.

Add three Doms, with issues of their own. But for variety's sake make one of them be already pretty much in love with the heroine, the second one surly and lusting after the heroine but unsure about the relationship, and third one be a plain asshole with relationship issues who is questioning pretty much everything.

Add in a few spankings, some bondage, shake, and you got yourself a menage COCKtail.

Entertaining? Somewhat
Smutty? Well, duh!
Original?
image
Not so much

Will I read the next book, if there will be one? Probably. But I certainly won't be rushing to Amazon to purchase it.

Bad Things (Tristan & Danika, #1) - R.K. Lilley His kiss was insidious, seeping into every part of me. He took me over in a way I couldn't believe I allowed. A few seconds into the kiss, and I was ready to relinquish all control, which I'd have sworn was the antithesis of everything I was before I'd met Tristan.
image

I knew we were going to be a dangerous combination. Bad things were going to happen if we spent too much time around each other.
image

This book! Sweet baby Jebus, THIS BOOK! I was not expecting to be as good as it was or to suck me into the story as it did.

Danika has a penchant for picking bad boys. So when she meets Tristan, whose sexy body, dimples and tattoos practically scream out bad, the icing on the cake is he's also in a band. She is determined to keep him at a distance. But as they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Danika and Tristan start out as friends. Tristan is determined to show her a more exciting life than what he sees her currently leading.
image
In the intoxicating mist of Vegas nightlife, drinks, and sexual tension, they begin to get closer.
image

I loved Danika's reference to being drunk as "feeling pretty". She had some of the funniest lines in this book.
"I named my vibrator after you," I told him with a smirk. "He's small, but he makes up for it by working hard.

The sexual tension between these two is scorching. But after one failing relationship after another, Danika is determined to be single, and Tristan just doesn't do relationships. They can only ignore what's igniting between them for so long...
"Tell me not to kiss you," he said, when his lips were a breath away from mine.
"Don't kiss me," I told him, my voice a breathless rasp.
"Mean it."
"I can't," I gasped.

image
And it's not long before a few stolen kisses start to give way to more desperate passions.

This book had one of the hottest non-sex scenes I have ever read. I mean scorching, having to ice my ovaries after reading it, HAWT!

Now when these two finally give in to the inevitable? Holy.Mother.of.ORGASMS!

image

"Close your eyes," he whispered
"Tristan," I began, but he shushed me, pulling a black blindfold over my eyes, and tying it behind my head.
The world went dark, and I didn't understand the purpose of this until he began to touch me.
He kissed my neck as his hands moved up to my wrists. He cinched the handcuffs on very slowly.
"Do you expect me to struggle?"
"No, sweetheart. I expect you to submit."

image

Though Tristan likes his control, and there were several scenes with some very mild restraints, this is not at all a BDSM book. It does have an extremely possessive and sexy alpha male that likes to be in control.

"What do you want, then?"
"I want you to let go. I want you to submit. I want to make you lose your mind. I want you do be so far gone that the only word left in your vocabulary is my name."

image

Now there are some things that take place right around the 70% mark and after that i found to be a little irritating. Tristan and Danika's behavior both gets a little juvenile and extreme at times. There were misunderstandings, and lack of communication. However, none of it was enough to take away from the story for me.

Of course, Tristan being the stubborn man that he is, there were times where he royally fucked things up. But he does recognize his mistakes, and pursues Danika with a passion.

"I know what you taste like, I know how it feels to have you come against my tongue. What it feels like to have you clench around my cock while you lose your fucking mind. And you, you've tasted me. I've shoved my cock so deep down your throat I felt your tonsils, Danika. Are we going to forget all of that?"

I really enjoyed both of these characters. Danika was quirky, funny, and extremely endearing. Tristan was just swoonworthy and sexy and just AH *dreamy sigh*

"But, sweetheart, listen carefully, when I say that I don't need anybody but you, what I mean is that I never have. I need you I've never needed anyone or anything the way I need you. I need you in a way that would break me if I lost you. Being with you makes every part of my life better. Every second I get with you is the best second of my life. I'm not good at expressing myself, not like you are, but I treasure this thing between us. Don't think I don't."

image

The ending gives us a HFN, but...and this is a major but...there is an event that takes place at the end which took me by complete and utter devastating surprise.

Ahhhh! That ending!!! Why? Why?!

image

Bumping my rating up to 4.5 after still thinking about this book 2 days later.
